the problem with the front turn signal lamps is common, for some reason the ground pin on the light sockets rot away, leaving the light not to ground properly so it will always blink fast and not work properly, it usually starts out intermittantly, BMW does not make a repair kit for it. A good junk yard helped me out, just clip and splice the plug from another car either left or right, and also remove the lamp itself( this is a pain because the bolts are on the reverse side of the bumper, make sure you have a good socket set) and then splice the plug into your current system and install the new lamp in reverse with the new pins.
