Fuel economy of the M62 definitly is much better, they made a good job of that, I think that the M60 double chain, valve springs, big lifters eats power, as well as everything is too high up the rev range.

The M60 with the 283:1 diff and auto trans and EGS just doesn't work. It tries to go everywhere at 1500rpm where it makes no power, shove the throttle and it kicks down to where it makes all the power and goes into warp, so the average drive is snail-warp-snail-warp, quite irritating
