Subject: Odd coolant leak at the back of the head

I just got my e23 and got it up and running, I purchased a euro 735i/A from Eric Q. with no transmission and all the parts to swap it over to a manual. I just finished that arduous task this week and now the car is running.

I have a coolant leak from the back of the head where the exit is to the heater core I assume. The hose is in good shape and doesn't appear cracked at all. I'm curious if the gasket for the gooseneck is a common place for leaks to occur. As it stands it drips directly onto the exhaust downpipes, allowing for some beautiful white smoke and quite a scent. I'm also curious if that gooseneck is known to crack or anything, or if I get the dubious fun of removing it to check. Thanks.
