Subject: I agree on how necessary a repair this is, as for...

how it was done, I've been reading about the procedure for the past few years. First it was good information to have in the "library" until I had enough info to realize that was one of my big problems. Once I got to that point, I got the bushings in a hurry (You might remember from whom) and sat on my hands in fright. There are write-ups available that lower the subframe by a few inches and use heat and lots of force to get the bushings out, but that seemed like a lot of smoke and burning rubber to me, not to mention the lack of "angle-of-attack" or space. Some other methods have you building slide hammers and also leaving the subframe mounted. Most of all, they all stress that the older the bushing, the more stubborn they tend to be to budge out of the subframe.

Bearing this in mind, I decided to forge into removing the subframe in complete, and set about finding the best way to accomplish that.
After some staring:

(My cousing and) I decided that meant we would be not only separating the trailing-arms from the subframe, the differential would be detatched, and the driveshaft split from it, then the exhaust is removed from the CAT back. The whole goal in our minds was to get complete control over the bushings and make Zer0 impact on the rest of the suspension.

I'll write-up and post pics under this thread, cuz I gotta go to bed, I just realized.

See you tomorrow!
