Subject: You will need a few more parts...

First, a navigation retrofit requires four major parts and then a collection of minor screws and brackets. The four main parts are the display, nav computer, wiring harness, and bord monitor radio module. You will need the wiring harness to test the nav computer and screen.

You will also need to retrofit the high OBC. Check out the BMW navigation retrofit guide in the sticky post at the top of the forum. It details all of the parts plus the other requirements. Also, there are a few other good forum posts with detailed parts lists.

You could probably survive without coding it, particularly since you do not have DSP. However, I would not recommend it. Plus, you will have to get the car coded anyway when you retrofit the High OBC. Coding requires BMW's proprietary diagnostics system. You can not hook up a generic computer. The coding step is actually very easy for a dealer. They can do it in just a few minutes.

It is possible to setup your own instance of the BMW software, but that is pretty advanced. Ideally, you might find an independent BMW mechanic who has the system.
