Subject: Re: What brand pads/rotors do you use?

You asked 'do you use' so I look at this an an open question for the board to answer.

The general consensus is that the quality rotors are either BMW parts or Balo rotors. The BMW rotors come with a painted hat that keeps them from rusting for a while and there are NOS available from www.bimmerdoc.com at great prices. Everybody sells balo so go to www.stevehaygood.com for those.

The pads are something else again. These pads are the same size that fit the E28///M5 and E24///M6 so there are lots of performance pads out there. For a low dust, daily driver pad, try the AXXIS, Repco, PBR, Mintex (4 different brand names) Deluxe (but only one pad name) and organic pad. A step up is the MetalMaster from these folks.

An agressive street/track day pad is the Porterfield R4s

A recommended track pad is the Hawk Blue.
