Subject: Watch out when putting the RTV on, other misc. tips

Especially on the driver's side - there's a sharp bracket next to the oil filter cannister, and it poked a hole in my tube of red RTV. Of course I was focused on getting the perfect bead of RTV at the place specified by the TIS, so I didn't notice the HUGE mess of red RTV leaking out of the other end of the squeeze tube.

Little sandwich bags to label all the bolts helped a LOT. I had to pull the upper radiator hose for clearance, so the BMW coolant I had on hand came in handy for topping off/bleeding when I was done. The bolts that hold the upper timing chain covers on are a few different lenghts - it is helpful to mark where each one goes.

I replaced the gaskets around the vanos solenoids and the gasket on the passenger side that has something to do with the timing chain tensioner as well.

When you pull the tensioner out of the passenger side, make sure the metal o-ring comes with it - mine stuck to the outside of the tensioner cover and I had to pull it off very carefully to avoid dropping it
