had symptoms on my car similar to those and there were multiple causes. First time it had idling problems it turned out to be spark plugs, second time it was Leak diagnostic pump, third time it was Valley pan gasket leak, and just a few months ago it was because of a vaccum leak. The only time i got SES was when the Leak diagnostic pump was the problem. So your car might have hidden codes that need to be read.
