You guys *and gals* know what you're talking about! I ordered the ingition switch from BavAuto and, after being 'told' it might take from 1 to 4 weeks to be delivered, it arrived in about 2 days . . . Nice.

I was driving around today, running errands, with no real plans to swap the switch just yet when I had the need to honk my horn. No worky, though. Very aggravating in such a situation.

So, I go home and decide to swap it out. Shouldn't take more than 2 hours, right? I mean, that's what I've read - 1-2 hours. Yeah, well . . . I'm an idiot. It would have taken 1-2 hours if it weren't for looking for not only the Torx bit I dropped while working, but also one of the black bracket screws . . . That was about 45 minutes of searching and cursing before I thought to just thump the trim below it and they both, eventually bounced out . . . I'm an idiot.

Otherwise, though, it went, essentially, as described on the most referenced "ignition switch removal and replacement" post on e38.org. What a great resource!!

After a quick drive, all seems to be working as desinged! Except the driver's side window. It still doesn't work.

As I've said, I have have read many of the regulator related threads here. Can anyone ponit me to a thread that helps to narrow don potential causes? I completely understand it could and likely is the regulator, but I still would have thought there would be more 'bad noise' associated with it and ther just hasn't been. Thoughts are welcome!

Thanks, again, 740ilDuke, RobinkK, Brian, & Edwin!
