The video signal is RGB, but it is not your normal RGB. The video is carried on a slightly unusual component sync-on-green signal. In typical R/G/B (RGBs) signals, the sync is carried on the blue channel. So you will need a converter that translates a traditional video signal (component, VGA, RBGs, etc.) into a RGsB signal compatible with the BMW monitor and switch between the PC feed and the nav computer feed.

There are a couple minor variations of the video pin-outs on the blue plug. Here are the two most common.
