Seriously, I hope in 5 years this will just be an awful blip and things correct back to a large extent. We are in bad shape, but nothing like the dustbowl days of the like of The Grapes of Wrath. Heck, we even got cable tv and BMW's now. We're better off than most of the people on this planet even if our investments are in the toilet right now.

Do you have everything you need? Need? Then you're ok.

I'm only investing in paying an extra $1000 a month towards the principle on my 5 7/8 mortgage right now.
