when I wanted to surprise my old man and wax his black Isuzu Trooper for him years ago.

Applied a nice thick coat of wax all over half the truck. Went inside to make a sandwich.

Everything was fine until I came back from lunch went to take the wax off and it had dried to the consistency of frosting.

Who knew you weren't supposed to let compound "dry to a haze?"
