Yes the pop and crack arose when the recording was a low-frequency bell sound. I see erwin you use a bass blocker on the front woofer--is this a RC high-pass filtering, R=4 ohm being the driver coil, C=1/2(pi)x4x300 = 132 uF ? That's a very large capacitor.

What I don't understand is, I thought the stock amplifier is designed to send the proper frequency range to all the ten drivers. That was why I earlier thought I should keep the stock amp with the stock drivers because they were designed to match. Why would excessive bass frequency leaked to the front woofer when the rest of the sound signal is not particularly loud (a bit more than normal loud).

I listen to a wide range of music, classical, jazz, rock, and hip-hop. My next plan is to purchase a pair of 5 1/4 inch full range speakers for front and hook them directly to the Blaupunkt head's amp output.
