Sounds like something might be getting overheated maybe, or maybe the fuel pump relay and the ECM relay, my 735i was doing something similar last winter I would go to take off from a stop light and it would die, I would wait a few minutes and she would start back up again, no problem. I ended up changing the above relays listed and it never did that again. Also, I would check all the fusible links going to the ECM and all ground points under the car to see if one of them has become compromised. I had a fusible link break one time and it wouldn't start at all, once I got that fixed it never had any problems starting again.
