Thanks brian, the more info you have, the better! I am doing this whole thing for the novelty of a 550i, and to my knowlege it will be the only one in ZA (When I finally get that far)

The 540 already has the hydraulic brakes, so that's one less worry for now. There is no ASC installed on the car, and I hope that won't mess with the M70 ECU's and force failsafe mode?

I hadn't given a thought to the diff yet as I was too busy worrying if the driveshaft would have to be shortened, any ideas there?

I purchased a M70 with ECU's and transmission, but no diff, and wondering how the 2.93 would affect performance.... Seems many people think the exhaust ports on the M70 are too restrictive and prevent the engine giving decent HP if modified. This sounds like rubbish to me, but time will tell.
