I was thinking the same, by having amber lights instead of white, and have them come on with the lights. You could probably just tap into the wire for the door handle light. I am still considering it, but haven't found the right amber light. Here is the write up that got me motivate.

I am curious what type of bulb Kawa used. Let me know if you find the right type of amber light. BTW: in your e39 do the LED fade away like the regular bulbs? I really like that feature wand would hate to lose it.
