Subject: I ordered new plugs last night (the factory spec copper core Bosch)

That's what I think too, fouled plugs. When I started the car during it's five month "slumber" I always allowed it to reach the normal operating temperature.

After the tranny was installed, I put fresh gas in it and took it for a 300 mile round trip (highway 75+ mph) so it's been "blown out" in spades. I also did a few "Italian tune up" pedal to the metal exercises. I don't notice the missing at that speed, it's more like 40-45 mph. A hiccup in the tranny and a slight hesitation is evident.

Plugs are first and then also maybe a dose of BK 44G. Any chance of crap lodged in the intake screen of the fuel pump? I had that happen before and the car missed and sputtered like crazy but intermittently. This time it's much milder than that.
