Subject: More problems (sigh)

For those of you keeping score at home, my car sat in the driveway for five months so I could scrape up the cash to replace the dead tranny. I now have driveline vibration issues (see post below) and now the car is misfiring (most of the time slight but occasionally very noticeable).

I know that having a car sit for extended periods is not good. What components would most likely suffer? It has new fuel and air filters and reasonably new wires and plugs. When I picked up the car I threw some injector cleaner in the tank just to be safe. The injectors have never been removed from the car and cleaned or replaced for that matter. The coil is a couple years old.

What components would most likely degrade after sitting for five months to cause the miss firing? Would the plugs foul on their own? During the five month period I started the car every couple of weeks to help prevent..uh..driveablity problems. Perhaps some crude is lodged against the screen pick up on the fuel pump (which, btw, is only a year old). Frustrated.
