Subject: I use a V1 mounted low on the windshield

on my X3 and have had no problems with forward or rearward sensitivity. I agree higher is better but the X3 sits pretty high already. I like it lower to get the laser reflections off of other's cars to increase the chance of a laser warning before I get hit...just my preference.

For wire routing, you may consider taping the radio wire coming off of the fuse box located under the top of the glove box. You may need to drop the glovebox down to get better access. That way you can route the wire out of the glove box and can put the V1 and wire in the glove box when not in use for a clean look and increased security. I plan to use this approach for my M3.
Good luck.
