Do your function buttons for AC or heat light up when pushed when the fan wheel is turned from stop to on? If those don't light you have electrical issue. Probably the switch by the fan speed control wheel.

If your little booster vaccum pump does not shut off after a few minutes of running, you are leaking air somewhere. Buy the hand squeeze vac pump for about 15 bucks from auto zone. Then disconnect the line at the vac pump, and draw vacuum and see if it leaks down. If it does, crimp or clamp a section of the vac hose and try again, if that holds vac. you know that part of the system up to the crimp is good, and go to the next section till you fimd it. Sometimes the hoses are bad but usually the fittings and actuators, i.e. the water valve at the firewall, the vac reservoir tee fitting in the cowl, the cowl fresh air flaps actuators, and in the rear seat actuator just ahead of the console, though any of them could leak. if you let that vac motor run continuously it will break /burn it up.

ou can get some access to most of the vac hoses by pulling the radio. Enough to clamp them off. there are some color coded diagrams showing hoses and routing and function on this site or Scotties, will post if I can find.
