On the rear door brake/loose door, be sure to check the sheet metal on the door itself. It is a weak point in design, and a bad door brake can blow a hole in the side of the door. Read the installation instructions off of this page for pictures of the area.
I have seen completely broken doors on the E34 forum in Germany where that seems to be a big problem. There is even a member of the forum who produces them laser cut for forum members. But these only fit on E34.
