Have you ever driven 25? It's s l o w. You have time to react to almost anything. This woman was flying. There's no way if she was doing anything close to the speed limit, this accident would have happened. Just from the damage to my car alone, you can tell how fast she was going. She bent my rear control arm on the other side. I have frame damage. Even if she didn’t try to slow down at all, I bet she couldn’t have done half that damage at 25. Also, how can you hit someone crossing an intersection and hit them towards the rear half of their car if you’re going 25.
Picture you’re going 25, and you see me stopped at an upcoming intersection. Now, one thing that can definitely be calculated is the shortest time it would take me to travel from a standstill to the place where she hit me. (i was almost through the intersection) So now take that time and compare it to the sum of an average reaction time and the time it takes a car to stop from 25. Those are numbers you don’t need a witness to back up. They’re undeniable from the damage she did and where my car was when she hit me. My point is, this was a blind intersection, and you better believe someone doing 50 in a 25 is responsible for an accident. There’s gonna be a certain speed above which an accident would be a foregone conclusion. You can’t just fly through a residential town where there are intersecting streets every 500 feet, and not expect to hit someone or something. But instead of covering her brake and keeping alert, I bet she was on her cell phone.
I’ll do the math on how far away from me she could have stopped and get back to you. But the point is, while she should have been able to have stopped a ways off from me, not only was she still moving, she still had so much momentum that she nearly totaled my car. That’s another thing that can be calculated. No witnesses needed. But actually their were witnesses.
