Get yourself a couple of hood or trunk panels from the junk yard and practice a LOT. Your paint is too important to perhaps burn through and without any experience, you can do so in a nanosecond. It would be good to have someone who is experienced in the use of an orbital to tutor you on the use of this machine.

I would highly recommend a Porter Cable Random Orbital. It foolproof, mild, but very capable in its approach and it is not difficult to achieve professional looking results.

Just one guy's experience.

Good Luck
