It it possible that the electric part of the ignition switch is starting to fail - but it is also possible that there is a fault with the the ring antenna that communicates with the chip in the key.

Try the following
- with the ignition turned on and the radio operating lower the right side sun visor and open the mirror slot to turn on the vanity lamp.

If you then get some odd faults (radio goes off, or some warning indicators in the instrument cluster) then it is the ignition switch.

Otherwise I would more suspect the ring antenna. That would need to be addressed by a dealer.
