Hi guys just a report back on my vanos seal job 323 E46. Have now done 800km or there about and I'm very happy. The car pulls strongly especially below 3000rpm ( I think that's when vanos does most of its work) Something that has not gone away and maybe someone can give an explanation for, is the following: When I leave work in the afternoon I start the engine and when I barely, and I mean barely, touch the accelerator the refs would drop, but it would otherwise idle smoothly. This would happen a few times and after say a minute of me touching the acc, this dropping of refs would go away and the engine would pick up its refs smoothly and it will not occur again until the following afternoon. Funny but this does not happen in the morning at home summer or winter. I'm actually not sure if this is vanos related or not. Other than that the engine is smooth and pull-offs is especially better. My fuel consumption seems to be better, it went from say 9.3l/100km to about 8.5. Overall the car feels faster and clearly more responsive. Rajaie thank you again.
