Oh on the radio, you're not going to get clarity nor quality reception with a vintage Becker. They look okay and that's about it. It wasn't until 1990 (1480 model) where the power was adequate (25x2) and the FM reception was good. The 754 and 780 (US models) had 20x2 and the FM tuner is poor.

I'd check out many headunits and see what you think would fit the car. Eclipse seem to be more modest in looks yet still have TONS of features that you'd want.

Kickpanel speakers are 4x6 and same with the rear. I would (and have on both of my E23s) gone to the 5.25" component in the rear for a larger speaker and the obvious ability for separate speakers. Brands here are your call, listen to piles and buy what you like.

I would not use the headunit to power the speakers, even Eclipse has decently high distortion and vocal range is limited... just how headunit power is... Scoop up a nice 25-40x4 RMS amplifier. Again, look at specs and stick with quality brands with minimal distortion and that rate their power at 10-11v as they'll have more power when the vehicle is on.

I really love the old Precision Power amplifiers, their best kept secret are the SEDONA line. They go for dirt cheap and have all the same quality as their higher dollar Art Series. These are vintage units but sound AWESOME. Also check out old Kicker ZR and the JL Slash series are all nice too.

Wiring is not that much more involved as you would have to wire past that stupid center fader in the dash anyway. 8awg power is fine and some nice RCA cables.

Budget $400-600, depends how you shop and a good afternoon to do it all... you'd be shocked at the sound.
