This has happened about a half dozen times in the last 7 months to my '97 528i 5-speed:

Go to start the car, turn the key, and nothing happens.

Radio and blower come on, but starter doesn't do a thing.

After about 5-10 minutes it starts just like it should.

After it first did it about 6 months ago I replaced the switch under the clutch pedal and the problem seemed to go away. Now it's back, 2 times in the last month.

The fact that it works fine after 10 minutes makes me wonder if it's a problem with the alarm system, maybe it thinks it's being stolen and is locking out the starter for that time period.

Any ideas?
