It could be a fault - but you will only know with an inspection of the components and an alignment.

Inside wear is somewhat normal given that the camber speck for these is -2deg which means they lean inward slightly. But that by itself should not cause significant inside wear - I have never noticed any extra wear on the inside of mine and my alignment is at speck.

If you have a worn component (spring?), or if the alignment is out of speck then this can happen. More so if you have very wide tires or carry extra weight or do lots of high speed driving.

Start with an inspection and alignment - do this "after" you have replaced the tires. And make sure the car is properly loaded down to the correct ride height when you do this.
- full tank of fuel
- make sure they put the proper weights in the seats and trunk.
