Subject: I agree but......

I think a lot of folks miss the point of iDrive and it's settings. The idea is to albeit cumbersome for some people to do most of the setting while not driving. Tweak all of the settings to the perfect custom version of the car the way only you like it, the driver. In theory while driving these things are already set and taken care of all you need to do now is concentrate on the drive. This is what I get from the limited time I have had with iDrive. Again I personally do not dislike iDrive I think It could be better for sure but I do like the idea or the promise of what it could become. The other side of that coin I love driving my bare bones nothing is automatic E30 318i. Ok I just lied nothing is automatic except the one thing I wish were not automatic,......the transmission:(
My E34 on the other hand sadly also an automatic (Touring) is still great to drive and very down to business in a understated spartan kind of approach,I love it too.
