The posts I have read say that the Assist module will not work in cars built before 03/2004. The assist module and your car would not coded for each other, so any behavior (coding, partially functional display, no audio, etc.) is unpredictable. Go with the ULF, because it is 100% proven. Many have tried to get an Assist module working with no success-- there is a reason they sell for so cheap on eBay.
