I went to BMW of Arlington, VA today with the VIN; after checking their database they found out the last oil service was about 46000 miles ago and prior to that were some recall changes it has 121000 miles now. The service guy visually checked the radiator, t-stat housing and signs of any leaks and he claimed it seemed fine although it is the original radiator in the car. The car looks drives and sounds very good but the guys I bought from don’t have any service records. BMW told me I need inspection I, they want $695 bucks for that but I wanted to get the spark plugs, air filter, micro filter, fuel filter and oil filter from BMW and Mobil 1 synthetic from wall mart, then I will start working on the other things, since I don’t have any service records on this car. In the mechanics section of this board, two guys have the names of their mechanics who have been working on their e39’s for a long time. I will try getting the parts by tomorrow and visit the mechanic closest to me. Thanks Jim
