The tape input to your DSP is high level, not line level unlike the other inputs like radio and CD. If you crank up on the iPod volume and put your ear close to a speaker and cranck the volume up, you will hear a faint sound of your iPod coming through. You need a signal booster in order to use the tape line... It all depends on the millivolts your external devise puts out. you need something similar to SealBeach740's Audiocontrol overdrive booster seen in this photo (white box)
