Subject: A little personal.. and long..

Well my brother was involved in a car accident last August. He was my older brother; only 23 years old. The outcome was a traumatic brain injury. He has been in a coma for .. 9 months now, wow it's passed by fast now that I count. He was in Iraq for almost a year before the accident and during that time I got used to him being gone but knowing he will be back. Anyways - it's been nine months now and I feel just the same as I did when he was over seas. I don't feel much dispair or grief at all. If I think about it in depth I can start to feel my insides turning out; then it turns off kind of like a breaker and back to normal. I just cant grasp the truth of the matter to let myself vent completely. I can feel it building like a toxin but the breaker kicks in and wont let it come out. Basically im just wondering if anyone here has been or has had a family member involved in a traumatizing incident and the steps you used to effectively release these hidden and "overwhelming to the point where you forget about them instantly" emotions. It's been too long to feel nothing only in quick spurts and my mind is starting to fool me into thinking that I just didn't care about him enough to feel anything.
