Why don't you be a pioneer and figure out how to install a Saab 2.3 turbo?

I've often thought it might be a great fuel-efficient alternative if you could figure out a way. Of course the turbo's on the wrong side and would probably fry the steering box, and how in god's name would you get the trionic to play nice with the BMW brains?

Still, I bet it would be a decent match with the low-end torque available. I doubt you'd even have to worry about gear ratios and final drive.
