Jerry,

IMO, a TV is bought once every 7 years or so.
Usually @ 7 years we start thinking of reasons why we need a new one.

With this in mind I recommend you look at and go with a Hitachi PLASMA TV. I bought a 55" back in '05 and my neighbors STILL swear it is the most vivid picture going.

Personally, I have yet to see an LCD picture to match a plasma TV.

Being a firm beliver in the "Loreal Doctrine" which says,
"I'm worth it!"
I say get a plasma and smile with the knowledge that you got the best and not a "poor man's plasma"
