Subject: As someone who was where you are now just 4 short years ago....

...some misc thoughts which might help a little:

1) I felt the same about my then-fiancee; no worries whatsoever that she was the "right" one. It's a good place to be when you're getting married :)

2) Savor the ceremony--and the evening for that matter. It's all over so quickly, you wouldn't believe it. I found myself taking a couple minutes alone looking in on the reception as it was going on just to soak everything in. Yes, as most people will tell you, this is "her big day"...but it's also your's. Try and savor the moment--and enjoy yourself. I remember being back in our room after the evening was over, wondering "where the hell did all the time go?"...like it was over in 30 mins.

3) The "Cocktail hour strategy": Use the cocktail hour to try and "meet, greet & thank" as many of your guests as possible. This means the reception (you know...when you and your guests are trying to eat, dance, etc) can be used to thank any of the folks you didn't get to get during the cocktail hour, leaving the rest of the time for you and your wife to enjoy.

4) Take notes when opening your cards/gifts--and do it as soon as possible: Elect yourself to take notes of the gift or check amount while your wife is opening the gifts you rec'd, then be sure and write personalized "thank yous" referencing the gift or amount as soon as you get back from your honeymoon. "Dear guest" thanks yous don't cut it here ;)

5) Enjoy yourselves! This is a BIG chapter for both of you, but be true to yourself and your wife, don't sweat the small stuff, and enjoy the ride!!

Have fun, Robert...!

Cheers!!
tIM
