Subject: The problem started two weeks ago

I could not feel the power in the car, it felt dead. As if something is holding it back. My wife drove the car to work, and it cut out with her. Fuel pump relay was the problem.

Last week, again with the wife backing out of a parking spot, the car cut off, but started back with no problem. Yesterday I drove the car to work NJ - NYC, and the car cut off on the highway. RPM was at 3500, I notice the needle jump to 4k and down to 3k, no power after that. When I tried to restart the car it would not idle, so I got out and started playing with the lead from the distributor cap to coil. Went back in the car and it started, idle was normal, so I started back driving, but I could not go over 3k. When I got to NYC, and parked the car, something new happened. When I start the car and put it in drive, it would cut off.

So a friend of mind did some trouble shooting, and he went under the dash board, to a silver box with green plugs. He bypass the box and the car worked, oh we also had to replace the Fuel pump relay again.

I don't know the name of the silver box.

Thanks

Nigel
