Subject: Glad you solved the problem...would you like to share the solution? 8-)

It would really be nice to leave the solution to your issue in case someone else finds themself in the same position. If they are searching thru the archives and find your thread...they'll then know just what to do.

But if you choose to NOT leave the solution...they will still be in the dark...only knowing that you were successful but decided not to share the fix.

I apologize if you were offended by my questions...that was not my intent. There were just some vague and/or ambiguous statements that needed more detail or explanation (for me). For instance, by 1994/95 all e34s have RF keyless entry systems with control units under the rear seat...but many of the V8 e34s have a newer system that is more similar to the type in the e38 & e39 7 & 5 series (don't require swapping a chip from the fob to the control unit)...than the ones that are in the other e34 models. That's why I wrote, "...I truly doubt that your 95 540i has the unit under the seat with the removable chip inside it." ...I didn't write that I doubt you have a unit under the rear seat.

That's why I also asked if you'd share your car's build date which would reveal more about your car and fill in the blanks for those of us that were reading your thread trying to figure out how to help...(which you didn't respond too). But no need to now...since you've solved the issue.
