Subject: Hmmm, you have a 1995 540i and purchased a KeylessRide.com remote????

Something does NOT add up here. Did you purchase this remote from their website? And if so, did you follow the instructions on how to order a remote? And when you entered your model & year and the remote appeared along with a question asking you "does your remote look like this"...and WHICH BOX DID YOU CHECK?????

If your remote looks like the one above...I'm really surprised. That is the type of remote you need to use the keylessride.com remote. And I truly doubt that you 95 540i has the unit under the seat with the removable chip inside it.

What is the build date of your 1995 540i? If you don't know, look on the driver's door jamb at the sticker that has your car's VIN...the build date should be in the upper corner.

Are you sure that your key isn't the type where the key has a rubber head and 2 or 3 buttons built into the key?

There are so many unexplained holes in your post that I don't even know where to begin. You blame Keylessride.com for being goofy...but that could be because you ordered a remote that doesn't work for your car....and I can't figure out how you got around their look up page when the pic above shows up which would be the first sign that they don't sell a remote for your system.

Until you post back your car's mfg date...I'm stopped in my tracks from helping you further because again...there's a lot of unanswered questions in your post about what keyless entry system you have in your car.
