Subject: I am planning on painting the whole car next year

I have some new body parts. To replace some slightly wrinkled ones from a time when i got a couple hundred pounds of free meat.

So, I am not looking for perfect match. Some paint shops that deal with PPG will mix up small batch in a spray can for you. I imagine you could take the car in so they can take a reading with their spectrometer gizmo too. But a spray can won't look as nice as the factory robot's. I might just send out for a couple cans when I am ready to paint over my rust.

BMW actually used to sell this color in spraycan. They still sell the darkgreen that the underhood/interior areas are painted with.

In the meantime there are different trim strips on the bottom of the door if you have the m5 rocker trim. Looks like you do, Jeff. The finish side is plastic and they come white. The insides of these rust, just like the black bumper strips.

About the rocker trim itself it conceals a bit of rust. There are some gaskets around the jack cutouts, inexpensive to replace.
