I was looking at doing side yard that we never use except the weeds.

Takes couple days to level, prep, frame the yard. Contract the cement finisher to level and finish the mix. Buy mixer from the truck by the cubic yards- the prep is DIY so take your time the finishing is impotant and it's done by the pro in 1 day.
