Subject: 2000 V 323ci Misfire

Iam hoping someone can offer me some help with a misfire as i am lost for an answer.

My 2000 323 ci developed a misfire a few months ago and i have struggled to solve the problem. The car on start up seems to run fine but after it warms up it starts to misfire all over the place.

I have taken the intake manifold off and have found splits on the air flow pipe attached to the throttle body and a broken vacuum house between the injector rail and the manifold. I have replaced both with new pipes. This solved the problem for about half an hour, i drove the car and it seemed fine. Then, as before, it warmed up and it started again.

The engine management light is on but previously it would come on then turn off agin! I have had it tested aand the results were a misfire on a number of cylinders and wild results from the FOUR lambda sensors. However, i was told that this misfire and lambda results could be caused by an air leak or something else.

Sorry for the long email but knowing the background is key to answering this question. Plesea, can anyone help because i need to sell the car and cant do that while it has this problem!!!

PLEASE HELP!!
