Subject: I actually like the new Mustang.

While it's debatable whether it borrows too much from the first generation model, I find the current car distinctive and attractive. I just hope they don't ruin the 2009 model with too much "aero." Part of what makes the current car so distinctive is that the designers resisted the generic jellybean look.

In my opinion, I think the Mustang and Challenger were certainly better executed than the Camaro (my beef is with those "sunken" headlights -- they look squashed and squinty, doesn't match the car's otherwise beautiful lines).

I realize the "retro" look isn't for everybody. Which is why for other 50 percent of people who don't like the idea of reaching into the past for design inspiration, there are plenty of modern, anonymous-looking "jellybeans" to choose from.

Just my $20.02. Cheers!
