Subject: 525 touring hatch/ glass locking

Ok I have read the manual, and like everyone says its a bit cryptic. Central locking is working fine. What I dont understand how to do is unlock via the drivers door and the glass not pop open. Also when I want the hatch glass to open how do I specifically do that? I probably do have the broken or bruised wire issue that so many of the wagons have and have looked at that wiring, it seems ok, I do get a message about the license plate lighting which I havent addressed.
