Subject: euro version all had the 4hp22, kickdown cable could be your problem

i dont think the 525 ever got the deep sump requiring the extended filter i am surprised you have not rebuilt them when you've had the opportunity as rebuilding them i think is very simple and how long they last would be an indication of the care taken in reassembly
mean 318's problem does sound rather curious if it was a dme problem or the computer was not ther it would start off in 3rd although if its an early enough version with the kickdown cable that is misadjusted that could be the problem
