Good to see that the reboot issue is solved. I am surprised that you had a missing wire in a late 2001 that would trigger a reboot, but I have definitely not read all there is to know about these things.

The INFO button is a coding issue. You can either have a dealer recode it, use NavCoder (search this forum), or use the OS downgrade/upgrade trick explained here. http://bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/115651/

I do not think that the perpetual power problem is related to coding. That is likely something different. Is your map disk an original or a copy? The MKIV does hate copies of the map disk. So, try it with an original if you have a copy. Also, I would do an OS downgrade/upgrade anyway. Maybe the perpetual power is software related.
