Just wanted to let everyone know how my car is doing. Not well. Still get the stutters.

I replaced the VANOS seals more than 750 miles ago and still get the stutter. I suspect that it's the DME issue with the oxygen sensor reading since I got an SES today. The car will go into the dealership for reprogramming.

That being said, I'm very satisfied with the seals. There is no doubt that they were worn based on the looseness of the pistons when I pulled the VANOS.
