ok... i read the procedure for replacing the thrust arms here: (http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/maintenance/suspension/upper_arm.htm), and thought it would be easy...

i jacked up the car, and broke the 22mm bolt free on the ball joint/wheel end of the arm, but couldnt figure out how to remove the other end which is connected to the frame. on the frame end of the arm.

with this picture as a reference:

...can someone tell me which end of bolt gets loosened? i would assume the nut end on the left but theres no room to get a ratchet, or even a crescent wrench in there... do i need to remove that plate which holds the sway bar? im assuming that whole bolt slides out? but the procedure i looked at wasnt that specific...

the other end, which is the bolt head end, seems like i could break it with a crescent wrench, since there wasnt enough room in there to get a ratchet... which makes me think installation/torquing will be hard...

trying to avoid taking it to the shop, any help/advice/experienced words would be appreciated... thanks in advance.
