Subject: The diff mount is expensive because you are not thinking

about using the one for the E28 M535i which is under a c-note vs the 200 for the stock unit and 250 for the ///M unit. The early cars use one that is about 280 and I haven't heard of any options on that unit. Sept 1980 is the date of the change to the newer diff mounts.

Then there are those that use polyurethane to fill the mount. Transmits more NVH to the body of the car but you know that anyone spending the time and money to do this say they are happy with the results.

Talk to Steve Haygood about using the one from the M535i if you are so inclined, to see if his experience says it is a good option.
