Subject: Depends on how much risk you are willing to take.

I just bought a 2002 745LI with 94,000 miles for $23,000. My 95 740IL I sold to a friend for $4000.00. It had 248,000 miles on it. My point is I sold it to someone I knew because I was confident that he would not have any problems. I have owned more BMW's than I would like to admit. These cars are very expensive new and when you can purchase one for $17,500 I think it is worth the risk. See if the seller will let you take it home for the weekend. Look inside and out. Check for leaks and find someone who can check for any codes. Drive the heck out of it. Understand that your 1st year will be expensive. I will have everything replaced that needs replaced on my car. Even if you spend up to $5000.00 you still will have one great car. I buy cars to last and that is why I purchase BMW's. Good Luck
